Skills Development Programme

The Skills Development Programme (SDP), which is Endorsed by the Institute of Leadership & Managementgoes one step further and recognises the skills you have developed alongside your volunteering hours through short, reflective assignments following the training workshops. When you complete the Skills Development Programme you will received an ILM Endorsed Certificate, which clearly demonstrates to graduate recruiters the practical skills you have developed.

For each volunteer enrolled on the programme, the Union will need to pay a registration fee to the ILM of £69+vat. As such, we have limited the number of volunteers who can work toward the programme to 50.

Please consider carefully whether you are able commit to complete the programme this academic year.

You will need to record 100 hours of volunteering, attend four Imperial Plus workshops and submit and pass four reflective assignments, demonstrating the criteria listed in the Skills Assessment Framework

Before we confirm your place on the Skills Development Programme and register you with ILM you will need to have:

1.    Completed your initial self-assessment

2.    Begun logging volunteer hours toward your goal of 100

3.    Attended at least one workshop

4.    Submitted and passed at least one reflective assignment based on a workshop you have attended, demonstrating the criteria listed in the Skills Assessment Framework.

Due to the cost the Union incurs in registering volunteers with ILM, you will need to have done the above before we confirm your place on the Skills Development Programme and registration with ILM.
