Royal School of Mines Union

The Royal School of Mines Union is the Constituent Union representing all undergraduate students in the Departments of Materials and Earth Science and Engineering. Founded in 1851, the RSM has existed in numerous forms throughout its lifespan and currently exists as one of 4 undergraduate Constituent Unions at Imperial. Today, we represent the academic, welfare and social interests of our ~600 members, proudly working to ensure that each and every one of our members has the best possible experience while at Imperial. Our events and traditions stretch back decades, including the annual Bottle Match varsity between our fierce rivals the Camborne School of Mines, which went ahead for its 118th year in 2020. Other events include our annual traditional Dinners, termly Bar Nights and newer events, such as our student/staff quiz, MasterMines. We also oversee a number of sports clubs and departmental societies, hoping to support your studies and social lives during your time at Imperial and as a member of the Royal School of Mines Union.
