New year, new us? Let's catch up.

We’re popping in to let you know we’ve had a little summertime glow-up! We're coming into the new academic year with a refreshed look, plus an updated website with some new features to make your student experience a whole lot easier to navigate.

We’ve heard the club, society and project concerns about navigation snags on our website, amongst other student feedback, and have reworked our full website layout and page navigation to better address student needs. This will make it easier than ever for you to find exactly what you’re looking for, right when you need it.

Alongside these functional updates, the new academic year also brings a new set of student representatives to lead the Imperial student body for 2024/25! We’re so excited for you to get acquainted with some fresh and familiar faces, all who will be listening and leading your student voice for the year to come.

So, what's changing?

WEBSITE

You may have noticed an all-new home page at www.imperialcollegeunion.org!

For now, links from this page will still take you back to our old website, but you will also notice a gradual shift to new-look webpages across the whole site over the coming weeks.

Regarding the functionality of the site, the digital systems we use to support our website are moving over to SUMS, a custom-built student union management software. SUMS is purpose made to manage the complexities of student union operations like club management, financial processes, events and more!

For our CSPs, if you’re a committee member, please wait for information and support from the Activities Team regarding any changes you need to know about. We’ll be hosting training sessions at the end of September for you all to get you fully up to speed!

We will continue to host the same information as we currently do on our new site, however some things may be moved around. This is to create an easier to navigate experience, making it quicker for you to find what you need! You’ll see the header and navigation changes later on in the process.

BRAND REFRESH

In terms of visuals, we know it can be a bit of a jumpscare when you see a new rebrand (hello Imperial), but don’t fret! We’ve implemented a brand refresh, maintaining our name and logo.

We’ve also updated our colour palette and the way we use visuals to paint a clearer picture of who we are and what we can do for Imperial students. You’ll start to see it sprinkled across our socials and marketing going forward, and we hope you love it as much as we do!
