And who are we?

When you enroll at Imperial, you automatically become a member of the union, giving you free access to all our services, events and activities.

We’re run by democratically elected Imperial students, who are supported by a full-time staff team, ensuring the student voice is represented and championed at all times.

We’re also an independent organisation from Imperial, meaning our policies and decisions are student-led and we can give constructive and impartial feedback and action to the University.

Your Officer Trustees

Each year in March we host Leadership Elections, where over 60,000 Imperial student votes are cast to decide who your next student leaders will be! 5 key positions that are voted on are our Officer Trustees, which are students who will lead and run ICU for the following academic year.

Your 2024/25 Officer Trustees are:

President: Camille Boutrolle

"Creating a London-wide lobbying movement to increase the UKRI London allowance for PGR students is high on my priority list. I’m buzzing to get started!"

Deputy President (Clubs & Societies): Christian Cooper

"I will be working to ensure that timeframes and processes for clubs and societies are greatly improved, as well as working to improve training, support and transparency for all societies, their members, and their leaders."

Deputy President (Education): Emina Hogas

"Ever since joining 4 years ago, feedback quality and timelines have always been an issue, which is something I am aiming to make a dent in during my time as DPE."

Deputy President (Finance & Services): Stephanie Yeung

"I’m really looking forward to collaborating with our students to deliver safe and inclusive events, plus accessible services that truly enhance their lives at Imperial and bring our community together."

Deputy President (Welfare): Nico Henry

"My goal is to ensure every student feels at home and supported. I am also dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, multicultural environment by organising cultural events, promoting diversity training, and ensuring all voices are heard."

Your Officer Trustees take a year out of their studies and represent the student voice to the University, ensuring the student experience is as good as can be during both your studies and personal life.

They’re here to listen to all Imperial students concerns and issues regarding courses, departments, faculties and anything else that may be impacting students, and take these concerns to the relevant parties within Imperial.

Don't miss our Welcome Fair in October, where we’ll have a whole host of amazing CSPs out and about to answer all your questions! This is one of our biggest days of the year, as we take over the South Ken campus for one day only.

You’ll find so many CSPs all around the centre of campus, plus a bunch of brands with exclusive student discounts, offers and freebies. This is the one day not to miss!

All your Welcome Fair information will be coming very soon, right here.

All things social

Fancy some midday snacks? Some fresh new Imperial merch? Or maybe some post-class pints? Between our 4 bars, retail store, convenience store and nightclub, we’ve got you covered. And what's more, we're also a non-profit organisation so anything you spend goes back into improving services for you.

You’ll be well acquainted with all our venues after Welcome Week, as we’ll be hosting a range of events here. Our CSPs will also have many events happening, so you won’t be short on choice!

Advice & Support

Studying in a high-performance environment like Imperial doesn’t come without its challenges, and we’ll be here to help you every step of the way.

Our professional and independent Advice team are here for all Imperial students to support you through a range of academic and non-academic issues. There are also close to 100 wellbeing representatives, who are students just like you, across a range of faculties, departments and study types, that raise any wellbeing concerns to ICU and the University.

Make a change on campus

Can’t wait to get stuck in? We encourage all students to get involved and share their thoughts by voting for or running in our student elections!

You have the power to shape your learning experience, defend the interests of under-represented student communities, and ensure your voice is heard at the highest levels of decision making.

Autumn Elections are coming up soon, with our major annual elections taking place in March each year. Don’t miss your chance to stand up and make change, whether that be running for a position or casting your vote!

Communities

Beyond your Officer Trustees, academic and wellbeing representatives, we also have nine Liberation and Community Officers representing students from generally marginalised groups.

These representatives provide a safe space for students identifying with these cohorts and help build these communities and visibility on campus. As well as being a support network for students part of these groups, they also organise campaigns and initiatives to tackle problems their members may face.

Check out the full list of officers here.
